The dangers of the kitchen: Rocío Carrasco suffers a spectacular fall during the filming of 'Bake Off: Celebrities in the oven'

Spanish Television has been working for several months on a competitive grid for 2024. One of its main bets, along with the return of dances in the Dance as You Can format, is Bake Off: Famous in the Oven, the adaptation of the renowned BBC program The Great British Bake Off. It will be this Thursday, January 11, when La 1 broadcasts the first gala, in which fourteen contestants will fight to become the best pastry celebrity in the country.

However, the journey has brought difficulties in some cases. An example is that of Rocío Carrasco, who almost suffered a serious injury during the recordings. This is clear from the promotional clip that RTVE has shared through its social networks. In it, you can see the first images of the tent where the contest takes place, as well as its three judges: Paco Roncero, Eva Arguiñano and Damián Betular.

Unfortunately, it is Rocío Jurado's daughter who takes the honors of having gone viral, and not exactly for a good cause. Between scenes of Terelu Campos dressed as a nun and Julio José Iglesias balancing a cake, the presenter appears slipping spectacularly in one of the hallways, drawing the attention of all of her colleagues. The result of this moment is still unknown, pending the premiere of the program, on Thursday at 10:50 p.m.

Bake Off: Celebrities in the Bake follows similar premises to other cooking competitions such as MasterChef. Each edition will be made up of two challenges, which will test the contestants' abilities in the kitchen. Among the several options available, there is the author's test, in which an attempt is made to replicate a pastry classic; and also the fantasy test, in which the judges must decide which creation visually surprises them the most.

It is not the first time that Bake Off is broadcast in one form or another in Spain. Cuatro was in charge of bringing the format to our televisions in 2019, with its edition for anonymous participants. In 2021, Prime Video launched the celebrity format on its platform, featuring, among others, Andrés Velencoso, Esperanza Aguirre, Chenoa, Soraya and James Rhodes. The winner's trophy would end up going to Cuéntame actor Pablo Rivero.

In other areas, Rocío Carrasco continues to be exposed to judicial problems. Last December, the Madrid Court convicted her of the crime of non-payment of the pension to her son, David Flores. The final result, as El Periódico first published, is that Rocío Jurado's daughter must pay compensation of 13,200 euros and a fine of 900, in compensation for five years of non-payment.
