RTVE responds with a forceful statement to the leak of the Benidorm Fest 2024 songs

The third edition of the Benidorm Fest, the contest that will designate the representative of Spain in Eurovision 2024, has been shaken by a wave of controversies before its celebration scheduled for January 30, February 1 and 3.

The most recent has emerged after the mistaken leak of the 16 participating songs. Although the list was quickly removed from the contest's official website, it had already been widely shared on social networks.

This situation has provoked signs of indignation among the affected artists, including Angy Fernández, who expressed her sadness with a sad face emoticon in response to the unauthorized publication of her song Sé qué soy.

RTVE, the corporation in charge of the festival, has taken action on the matter with an official statement in X, announcing the collection of all the information necessary to take legal action in defense of the interests of the artists and the company itself.

"After what happened in the last few hours, RTVE's legal services are collecting all the information to undertake legal actions that they consider appropriate to defend the interests of artists and the Corporation," they said from the public entity.

Furthermore, as stated in the statement, the organization continues with the preparations for the festival, waiting for the official release of all the songs on December 14. This day a press conference will also be held at the Alameda Theater in Seville, where the first impressions of the artists and RTVE after the first hearings from the public will be shared.

It will be that day when Remitente, by María Peláe and which is published, can be heard in the version that will be presented at the festival. This song will be shorter, sticking to the three-minute limit instead of the four and a half minutes of the original version.
