Civil Protection has put the Plaseqcat on alert and is asking for the confinement of the neighborhood near a cooperative on the way to Les Coves, in Alcarràs (Segrià), because of an ammonia leak. The affected company is Fruits de Ponents.
The Firefighters received the notification at 7:09 a.m. and activated seven crews.
The exhaust is limited to the interior compressor room and the leak point has already been identified.
The Firefighters have also given the notice to establish a 50-meter perimeter around the industry to secure the outside area and confine nearby homes.
Civil Protection recommends that citizens not approach the area and that people who live nearby should stay close by closing doors, windows and ventilation elements.
To resolve the incident, the Mossos d'Esquadra and, preventively, the Medical Emergency System (SEM) have also been active.
There are no personal injuries, according to Civil Protection.
