The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Local Police of Figueres are looking for an individual after he attacked two workers and three dogs of a shelter located on Pont de Molins street in the town.

According to sources from the City Council, the events occurred at half past five this Sunday, when the person - who is a troublesome squatter in the neighborhood - entered the premises. The two attacked workers were taken to the Figueres hospital, although they were not serious. The dogs are also being cared for.

The police investigate the facts. At the scene of the incident, a dozen police units have been deployed.

The mayor of Figueres, Jordi Masquef, explained that the aggressor is one who occupies a property on Port de la Selva street and that this Sunday he entered the kennel, released several animals and confronted the workers of the shelter. . "He attacked two, who ended up with minor injuries at the Figueres Hospital and who have already been discharged," Masquef said in a message to one minor, with injuries to the jaw and a leg; and another more serious one with burns on the body, who has been transferred to a veterinary clinic in Girona," continued the mayor of Figueres.

Masquef announced that the aggressor is being searched by members of the Urban Police and Mossos d'Esquadra, with ARRO agents. "For three hours there has been an active search for this individual, and we hope that he can be arrested between tonight and tomorrow morning," commented the mayor of Figueres, who stressed that the police presence will be maintained in the area until the man is not arrested. "Let the neighbors have the peace of mind that there will be police in the neighborhood until he is arrested, brought to justice and pays for what he has done," Masquef concluded.
