The fourth week of sessions begins in the trial of Daniel Sancho for the crime of Edwin Arrieta. This Wednesday, Rodolfo Sancho's son is expected to take a whole day to offer his statement and try to convince the judge that he did not commit this murder with premeditation. Something that, against all odds, some evidence and witnesses verify.

So much so, that the Arrieta family's lawyer had to change the tone of his statements throughout the days. Although at the beginning it was clear that they were looking for the judge to accept this premeditation, now they are only looking for him to be convicted, no matter what. And new information about this same case does not stop coming out daily that turns everything upside down. Now there is something that directly affects the Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor gave his opinion a few days ago about the direction of this trial, making it clear that he is not at all clear. "The prosecutor himself told us journalists without cameras yesterday that it is being very difficult to prove this premeditation," said a reporter from the program Vamos a ver.

And it was now that the newspaper La Razón has released new information about this same person. Ones that could put on the table a possible pact between the Prosecutor's Office and Daniel Sancho's defense.

The aforementioned media has revealed that Jeerawat Sawatdichai, the prosecutor, and Aprichart Srinual, Sancho's lawyer, have been seen in restaurants or having drinks on more than one occasion. This could be due, in turn, to the fact that the island of Koh Samui is very small and the connections between the inhabitants are multiple. Therefore, I would not have to assume that it was for a possible pact. Something that will not be known exactly until the end of the trial.

And if there is talk of a turn in the case, it is, above all, because of how difficult it is for them to prove that Daniel Sancho planned the murder of the Colombian surgeon. A very important aspect because this will determine the final sentence, which could vary between being able to return to Spain or being sentenced to capital punishment.

Among other things, the autopsy does not show the cause of death, something key in this whole matter. A forensic doctor, independent of the police, put on the table the possibility that the wounds and injuries on Arrieta's skull could be "the result of punches that Daniel Sancho himself has recognized in the heat of a fight."

Now, we just have to wait for the accused to offer his statement to see how this whole matter can change. A day in which his father, who has been present at all the sessions, will be absent so that his own statement is not contaminated.
