The National Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in Dénia (Alicante) accused of attempted homicide for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old young man four times in the left torso in a brawl, one of which caused a lung injury for which he had to be admitted to the ICU of a hospital center.
The arrest occurred on April 11, although the events occurred last March in the leisure area of the aforementioned town, when the victim was on the public road with several friends and three men approached them. After an argument, one of them stabbed the 19-year-old young man four times in the left torso with a knife, according to police sources reported this Monday.
After the attack, the agents treated the victim, who had several puncture wounds in his left torso, and requested the help of the health services, who transferred him to a hospital after providing him with initial medical assistance.
Although the alleged perpetrator of the events managed to flee the scene when the attack occurred, the police opened an investigation and weeks later managed to locate a home where he was hiding, so a surveillance device was established that allowed his arrest on the 11th. of April.
The detainee, with a history of similar events, has been placed at the disposal of the Dénia Court of Investigation, which has ordered his entry into prison, according to the National Police.
