Ozzy Osbourne, retired due to illness, wants to play his last concert: "I will die a happy man"

Ozzy Osbourne's latest interview with Rolling Stone UK has left all of the artist's followers with their hearts in their mouths. The Black Sabbath rocker has revealed to the aforementioned media that he believes he has 10 years to live, at most, due to his battle with Parkinson's and the medical problems and surgeries resulting from a fall in 2019. Now he has revealed that one of his desires is to get back on stage.

During the interview, the singer of songs like Paranoid or Iron Man was very clear and forceful. "Look, I told Sharon that she had smoked a joint recently and she said, 'What are you doing that for? She'll kill you,'" Ozzy, 74, explained. "I said, 'How long do you want me to live?!' "At best, I have ten years left and when you're older, time speeds up. Sharon and I recently celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary, and that's just amazing to me!" he explained.

The artist admitted not feeling good about the deterioration that the years offer to his body. "I'm not afraid of dying, but I don't want to have a long, painful, miserable existence," he admitted. "I like the idea that if you have a terminal illness, you can go to a place in Switzerland and be cured quickly. I saw my father die of cancer," he confessed.

The truth is that the artist has had several health problems in recent years. It was in 2020 when Ozzy revealed that he had been suffering from Parkinson's since 2003. On the other hand, he underwent several back surgeries in an attempt to repair the damage caused to his spine due to a fall suffered in 2019. The accident aggravated his problems. back and neck. Elsewhere, Ozzy revealed that his second spinal surgery didn't go as planned and left him "crippled," while doctors found a tumor during another checkup.

"This really shocked me," said the singer about the discovery of a tumor. "The second surgery went drastically wrong and left me practically crippled. I thought I would be up and running after the second and third, but with the last one they put a damn rod in my spine. They found a tumor in one of the vertebrae, so "They had to dig all that up too. It's quite difficult and my balance is screwed," he revealed.

Ozzy, who previously struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, assured the aforementioned outlet that he "should have died much sooner than many" of his late friends. "Why am I the last man standing? I don't understand any of that. Sometimes I look in the mirror and say, 'Why the fuck did you do it?!'" he would say. "I'm not bragging about any of this because he should have been dead a thousand times over. They've washed my stomach God knows how many times," he confessed, in some of the harshest statements.

Due to his ongoing health issues, Ozzy canceled his tour and announced he would stop performing live earlier this year. However, he has not lost all hope of being able to perform again. Osbourne thinks about thanking all his fans for their love by getting back on stage. "I'm taking it day by day, and if I can get back into acting, I will," he said. "But it's been like saying goodbye to the best relationship of my life. At the beginning of my illness, when I stopped touring, I was really angry at myself, at the doctors, and at the world. But as time went on, I just I said, 'Well, maybe I have to accept that fact,'" he said.

The artist wants to thank the warmth of all his followers, who have been there for him throughout his career, being a fundamental part of his life. "If I can't keep doing shows regularly, I just want to be well enough to do a show where I can say, 'Hey guys, thank you so much for my life,'" Ozzy said. "That's what I'm working for, and if in the end I drop dead, I'll die a happy man," he said, proud of giving his all for this desire.
