Marta Robles opens up about her illness: "They have removed two tumors from me"

Marta Robles says goodbye to her most complicated year. 2023 has turned out to be a before and after for the life of the journalist, who has had to face serious health problems that have made her question many things; also affecting both her personal life and that of her family.

An important year at all levels, so the journalist has decided to say goodbye in a very special way. Thus, the writer also shared a letter as a farewell on her official Instagram account that has not left her more than 32,000 followers on the social network indifferent.

A message with which she has decided to tell "what no one tells on Instagram: the truth", facing her most extreme vulnerability. In her case, her illness. "This year that is already ending - finally! - has given me all sorts of these types of "unforeseen events", to the point of leaving me very touched. And it has forced me to reflect," she says.

The journalist, despite everything, is grateful for having been able to reach the end of this year as a winner, even though the forecasts were not promising. "Today I am very happy. After two operations, I have had the good news that there is nothing wrong with me. They have removed two tumors, but both were benign and it was not exactly what was expected," reveals the journalist.

"I am very happy and destigmatized, because it seems that when the word cancer hovers over us, in some way, others, with whom you share it, the others look at you with a different face, as if with anguish, with fear, with sorrow; and sorrows are contagious".

The journalist regrets that Instagram is the network of that "false happiness", a mirage where everyone seems handsome and successful. She had to live it herself, when she told her situation to those around her, and she told her how could she be experiencing something like that, if it seems "indestructible." As she herself admits, nothing further, things happen to her too.

Luckily, now it's time to live and be happy, "with everyone of mine and myself healthy, reset, with the counter at zero and ready to enjoy life." The journalist hopes that we can all "show ourselves more as we are and less pretend to gain the approval of others at the expense of ourselves. "We are who we are precisely because of our mistakes, our defeats; but also for our virtues and our successes".

"I want to love myself and others just as they are," insists the journalist, who assures that: "I have returned to life, and here I am again, eager to be who I am, which is not easy."
