Manolo Escobar married Anita, a German woman with whom he was more than 54 years. The wedding took place just six months after they met on the Costa Brava. Curiously, when they both met, they could hardly interact with each other, since Anita only spoke German and Escobar Spanish. However, that was not an impediment for the couple to fall in love and form a tandem that would never be separated again.
Also, when the two first met, Anita had her hair dyed jet black, something that was fashionable in Germany at the time and which hid her true blonde hair. "My father used to say 'my wife cheated on me, she thought she was marrying me to a brunette,'" Vanessa explained with a laugh.
However, when Manolo Escobar met the one who would become his wife, he was already engaged. The artist had a girlfriend for 6 years, which almost ended the wedding aspirations. Finally, the couple got married in Germany and returned to Spain for the singer to continue his musical career, which would ultimately become successful.
Years later, the couple adopted Vanessa and thus the family was formed that Spain fell in love with for so many years. In 2023, it will be 10 years since the passing of the iconic singer. To celebrate, the family is about to open a tribute museum to the artist.
