La Fábrica de la Tele, known for being the creator of successful television formats such as Sálvame, Deluxe and Socialité, will permanently close its doors after 17 years of collaboration with the audiovisual group Mediaset España.
The news comes after the confirmation of the divorce of both parties at the beginning of December, thus marking the end of a corporate relationship that has left a deep mark on Spanish television.
The company founded by Adrián Madrid and Óscar Cornejo, responsible for the successful Sálvame franchise, will progressively close at the beginning of 2024, according to internal sources.
This closure is in addition to the recent ERE initiated after the end of emblematic programs such as Sálvame, Deluxe and Socialité. From this moment on, the creators of La Fábrica de la Tele will not produce any programs under this brand, opening the possibility of creating a new company for future projects.
The decision to close La Fábrica de la Tele was made as a result of disagreements that arose last summer, when Mediaset requested a change of presenters on Socialité, a request that the production company was not willing to comply with. Relations between both parties have not been fluid since the change of ownership of Mediaset, and the lack of connection with the new management contributed to the turning point that culminated in the breakup.
La Fábrica de la Tele's current contract with programs such as Socialité, Todo es Lie and Viajando con Chester will end on December 31. Adrián Madrid and Óscar Cornejo have expressed their preference for letting others take over the production of these spaces, avoiding the risk of them being canceled due to their association with La Fábrica de la Tele.
On the horizon, uncertainty surrounds the future of television projects that would previously bear the signature of this emblematic production company, thus marking the closing of a significant chapter in the history of Spanish television.
