Jennifer Aniston surprisingly reveals that Matthew Perry sent her a message the morning of his death: "It wasn't bad"

Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, died on October 28 at the age of 54. A totally unexpected death for his family, friends and followers, who found out how the police had received a notice and found the actor drowned in a jacuzzi in his house.

The investigation is still underway to try to elucidate the exact cause of his death, but everything indicates that the actor would have suffered cardiac arrest. His friends in Friends received the news devastated. Above all, Jennifer Aniston, one of those who was closest to the actor, and who now reveals that she received a text message from Perry on the same day of his death and was "happy."

This is what the actress herself says in a recent interview for Variety, in which she presents the new season of her series, The Morning Show, alongside Reese Witherspoon. At one point in the conversation, they begin to talk about their experience in Friends, where they played the role of sisters; and the actress is asked how she would like the world to remember Matthew Perry.

"He already said it, he would love to be remembered. He was happy. He was healthy. He had stopped smoking. He was getting in shape. He was happy," he insists, revealing that he received a message the same morning of his death. "I was texting him that morning. He wasn't suffering, he wasn't experiencing a complicated situation. He was happy," she emphasizes, something that Reese Witherspoon insists is "important for people to know."

"It's very important. I want people to know that he was really healthy, and getting healthy. He was with a purpose. He worked very hard. He had to deal with something really hard," he remembers.

The actress can't help but get emotional when talking about her partner and friend, whom she admits she remembers every day. "I miss him so much. We all do. He made us laugh so much," she insists. "I hope you know that he was loved in a way you could never have imagined. He just knew how to add something to anyone's happiness."

Jennifer Aniston reappears several weeks after the death of her partner and friend, thus resuming her public and professional life. "Jen is probably the one who is having the hardest time," said sources close to the Friends protagonists, who were friends for decades, and between whom there was a very special relationship, with the actor even confirming that his partner She was one of those who cared about him the most over the years.

Perry's loss represents the second death of a very loved one in less than a year for the actress, whose father, John Aniston, died in November 2022. Without having recovered from the grief over the death of the veteran protagonist of the serial The Days of our life, he would have had to add the loss of his great friend, sinking even further.
