Imam of Jordan, daughter of Kings Abdullah and King Rania, marries Jameel Alexander Thermiotis

The Jordanian royal house has lived this Sunday one of the most important events of the year. Princess Iman, second daughter of Kings Abdallah and Rania, became the first of the four brothers to go through the altar. The 26-year-old girl was marrying her fiancé, the Venezuelan businessman of Greek descent Dimitrios Alexandros Thermiotis Hernández, who now goes by the name Jameel Alexander Thermiotis after converting to Islam.

The Beit Al Urdun Palace, the official residence of King Abdullah, located in the exclusive Dabouq district of Amman, was decked out to host the ceremony, which took place at six in the afternoon (Jordanian time). The wedding, which was held according to the Muslim rite in a bright room decorated with white flowers, was broadcast live on Jordanian television.

The Hashemite kings received the guests with a kiss of the hands that lasted approximately twenty minutes. The last to arrive was the groom, who affectionately greeted his in-laws. Soon after, Princess Iman entered the scene accompanied by her older brother, Hussein bin Al Abdullah, the Crown Prince of Jordan. The young woman was radiant with a classic long-sleeved design, with transparencies at the neckline. She wore her hair in a low bun, a long veil and a beautiful tiara.

Before the ceremony, the bride, who was surrounded by her three brothers, Hussein, Hashem and Salma, melted into a tender embrace with her mother, Queen Rania, who chose an elegant pleated dress in nude for the occasion. It was precisely the mother of the bride who reported the news about the imminent marriage of her daughter just a week ago.

The Hashemite queen sat in the front row next to her future daughter-in-law, the young Saudi Rajwa al-Saif, who is the fiancée of Crown Prince Hussein, and will be the protagonist of the next royal wedding; and her young children, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem. For his part, the king occupied a position in the main space, just in front of the imam who officiated at the wedding and next to the sofa where the bride and groom were.

The royal wedding was attended by more than 150 guests including members of the Jordanian royal family, the parents of Thermiotis Hernández, and other prominent personalities from Jordanian society and politics.

The couple announced their engagement last July, after three years of discreet relationship. The news came as a surprise to many since it was unknown that the young woman had a partner.

The celebrations started on March 7 with the celebration of the 'Henna Night'. A very special ceremony for the bride before the "I do", since it is the last one that happens with her family before getting married. Both Iman and Rania shared images of this ritual on Instagram and thus the bride could be seen wearing a white wedding dress designed by the Jordanian Reema Dahbour. She also wore the same belt that her mother used in her marriage to King Abdullah II.

This is a very special year for the Royal Hashemite Court, since on June 1 the heir will also get married. The link will take place a few days before the kings of Jordan commemorate three decades as husband and wife.
