In her talk with Pablo Motos, the singer did not hesitate to reveal what was the biggest mistake in her musical career.
Camino, which is the title of this new album, is made up of ten songs that serve to celebrate his 25-year career and is accompanied by a tour throughout Spain in the coming months. At the beginning of the night he remembered that his beginnings in music were completely by chance.
"I wanted a bicycle, and I saw on a poster that there was a bulería carol contest and the prize was 25,000 pesetas. So I decided to introduce myself", he began. "I went to tell my mother who was with Concha, Sara Varas's mother, and she told me that, since I had never sung, she told me to go to her academy so they could listen to me," and so on. she did she.
It was evident that the artist had a great voice, so she had no problem achieving this goal. "I sang at the academy and they loved it. I won the contest and I spent 15,000 pesetas on a red bicycle and the other 10,000 pesetas, my mother kept," she said to the laughter of the entire audience.
After this beautiful anecdote, Pablo Motos brought up a topic that the guest regretted telling after only a few seconds. "You've won four Latin Grammys and you didn't want to go pick up the first one," recalling one of the episodes that she keeps as if it were a thorn in the side.
At that time, Niña Pastori had just given birth to her first daughter only a few months ago, so making such a long trip and being separated from her little girl for several days made her back down. At that time, she consulted with everyone around her, the opinion of her manager, of whom she does not seem to have a good memory, was the one that followed.
According to her, she thought that she did not have too many options to win the award because she was nominated along with guitarists like Paco de Lucía, and that her way of singing and her lyrics could be "understood worse in America", where most of the academics are from. , so he decided not to go.
It was his father who recommended the opposite, as he asked him to travel and if he did not win, "applaud the winner", a piece of advice he ignored. Oblivious to everything that happened at the awards gala, he stayed in Madrid taking care of his daughter and because of the time difference he went to sleep without giving it any importance.
"In the end I didn't go and a fan is the one who called us at 3 in the morning and imagine, she wanted to give me a shot or two," she admitted ashamed.
