Gerard Piqué under criticism: Kings League players await promised salary increase

Kings League players were eagerly awaiting a salary increase promised by league president Gerard Piqué, but the reality is that the promise has been left up in the air. With the second split about to start, the players have received their contracts, but they have not been what they expected: the same salaries as in the first split, that is, 75 euros gross per game.

Despite the large number of sponsorships and the record number of concurrent users in the last Final Four at the Camp Nou, it seems that the economic situation of the players has not improved. This has raised doubts among some of the players from the 12 teams participating in the men's competition, while in the case of the female players, the situation is the same.

Uncertainty over whether there will be a pay increase remains, even with the Queens League matchday one taking place this weekend. Piqué's announcement about the salary increase did not specify when it would take place, which has caused confusion among the players and some team leaders.

The president of Jijantes FC, Gerard Romero, recalled that although Piqué announced an increase, no specific date was given. Some footballers are leading movements to generate noise and put the issue on the table, but it is still unclear when the salary increase will take place.

Given the lack of solutions, some team presidents have begun to propose alternatives. Spursito has suggested that all the presidents put a pot a month and that it be distributed among all the players. All this with the aim of avoiding obvious imbalances between the teams because not all of them have the same resources. However, this proposal has not yet been discussed with all the presidents and it is not yet known if it will be carried out.
