First words from Dani Alves' mother after publishing the identity of the victim

Dani Alves is still pending trial for the alleged sexual assault committed at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022. However, his defense was faltering a few weeks ago, when he allegedly disobeyed an explicit order from the investigating judge in the case, who had prohibited the dissemination of any data that could reveal the identity of the victim.

The mother of the Brazilian international, Lucía Alves, shared a video on her Instagram profile in which the victim of the alleged sexual assault could be seen dancing with a group of friends. Not only did she publish the image of her, but she also gave the girl's first and last name. It didn't take long for the images to go viral, but what was initially going to be a strategy to discredit the victim's story, now appears to be a conspiracy, at least according to Lucía Alves.

With the video, the family of the former Brazilian soccer player intended to annul the compensation requested by the victim, based on the psychological damage he would have suffered after the alleged sexual assault. "This is the celebration of those who claim inability to work," the video read.

The images went around the world, with Alves' legal team trying to turn the victim's story around before the trial, which will be held on February 5, 6 and 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Court of Barcelona. However, now Dani Alves' mother denies having published those images, claiming that she was "deceived."

"I did not commit any crime and everything will be proven, we just have to wait," Lucía Alves writes on her Instagram account.

The soccer player's mother shared these first words on her Instagram Stories to introduce Graciele Queiroz, her lawyer, who is the one who points to this conspiracy theory. "Mrs. Lucía did not commit any crime. In fact, she was deceived by messages. How did they get her number and do they know who the alleged victim was? Something is wrong; let's prove the truth," insists Queiroz.

"They want to reverse the game, but we cannot forget that Daniel's family never had access to the process. Justice will investigate," says the lawyer.

Just one week before the trial for the alleged sexual assault begins, Dani Alves' mother was denounced by the victim's lawyer for spreading her identity and violating the order of the investigating judge. A judicial setback for a trial that appears complicated for the Brazilian, whose provisional release was denied up to three times.

The Brazilian, former F.C. player Barcelona, has been in provisional prison since January 20, 2023. Alves faces between 9 and 12 years in prison. The Prosecutor's Office requested 9 years in prison for rape and 10 years of supervised release, while the victim requested 12 years, the maximum penalty for this crime contemplated in the Penal Code, and 150,000 euros in compensation.
