Not only in the world of sports, but Ana Peleteiro is also making a name for herself as an influencer on social media. With almost 440,000 followers on Instagram, the Galician has great success, and that translates into considerable benefits. So much so that she already exceeds her income as an athlete.

She herself has been in charge of confessing how much she earns in her role as an influencer on social networks during the latest installment of the podcast Tómatelo con vino, presented by the influencers María Fernández-Rubíes and Rocío Isarri. In the fun conversation, Peleteiro talked about many topics, but also about her role as a new network star.

Among other things, the athlete assured that a large part of her current income does not come precisely from athletics, but from her constant activity in the 3.0 universe.

"The year I didn't compete, I lived off the networks," reveals the Galician, talking about the months she had to take a temporary break in her career due to her pregnancy. "I earned twice as much as when I was an Olympic medalist. I earned much more because I was also able to dedicate more to the networks," she confesses.

Peleteiro also explained that the income he earns from social media is not far from what he could earn as a professional athlete; Yes, only if he gets an Olympic medal.

"It depends a lot. If I get medals it is 50-50 because there is a lot of networking that comes from being an athlete and also because my sponsor is Adidas. It is very noticeable, but it depends on the results."

In addition to working with Adidas on sports-related content, the Galician has focused her network strategy on another area: lifestyle content. As Lúa's new mother, she has taken the opportunity to explore this new sector and, at the same time, obtain benefits.

"The aid is enough to live... Don't worry. We Spaniards complain about everything. Like Spain, nowhere else," says the athlete. "At the sporting level, the scholarships are very favorable."

Now, Peleteiro does point out that you have to be very lucky if you want sponsors and for brands to bet on you. "If you want to earn extra, you have to work on the image. You have to work, but also the image. Because you are a winner, you are not going to have everything. People want everything, they complain. How much do you use social networks? How much "Do you talk about your life? Do you stop to talk to your fans? It all adds up."

"It is important and necessary to be on networks, but I understand that there are people who don't like it," he explains. "I don't want to limit myself, and that's why I'm focusing on other things. I want to be something more than the "athletic Ana." I'm not just one thing. I like makeup, fashion... I don't limit myself," she insists. "I have managed to reach another audience, and this is work."
