Amazon is already planning its vice-series for Christmas: the second of 'Reacher'

In February 2022 there was a surprise in Amazon's shipments: the adaptation of the Jack Reacher novels written by Lee Child. It didn't have even half the budget of productions like The Rings of Power or Citadel, but in the United States audience analysis confirmed that it was a hit among Prime Video subscribers. And now Christmas is approaching, the content platform has its priority: for Reacher to sweep the holiday season with its premiere planned for December 15, ready for marathons and word of mouth.

In the first season, Reacher passed through a town called Margrave where he was arrested for murder. He soon discovered that there he could find information about his missing brother. In the second season, however, the veteran military police investigator, wandering across the United States, receives a coded message: members of his former unit are being brutally murdered.

Accustomed to going it alone, he will have to put aside his nomadic instinct to reunite with three old companions: Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan) and David O'Donnell (Shaun Sipos). Together they begin to connect the dots in a mystery in which the stakes are increasingly higher, and which will lead them to wonder who has betrayed them and who will be the next to die. Sexual tension is also served: Karla, who is a forensic accountant, has always been her weakness.

The person responsible for this success is Nick Santora, trained in the Prison Break school and who had surprised the action genre on television with Scorpion, which ran for four seasons. And the secret of the work? Deep America and more than solvent action scenes, in part because of how imposing Alan Ritchson is as the Jack Reacher referred to in the title.

If it continues to be a success, Santora will not lack material: Lee Child has published 28 novels. The trailer also anticipates that this second season will be faithful to the style that turned Reacher into an unexpected television phenomenon:
