More and more people prefer to leave their car parked in the garage during weekdays to move around the city on an electric bicycle during their daily journeys. In this way, in addition to avoiding annoying traffic jams, it contributes to reducing environmental pollution without having to give up the freedom to move around in a private means of transport.
The new Ado Air, a model originating from the firm Ado Bikes, joins this field of electrically assisted bikes. According to its own manufacturers, it is one of the lightest and most intelligent alternatives in its category. This urban bike is characterized by its high level of agility and truly compact dimensions, as well as equipment that includes, among other elements, front and rear lights, mudguards and various connectivity options.
Considering that it is designed for the city to be its main habitat, the bike is also foldable, which makes it ideal for cyclists who have little space to store their belongings. The fact that it is light (it weighs only 16 kg) allows it to be easily lifted freehand, for example, when going up or down stairs if combined with the use of the subway.
The Air comes equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and a carbon belt drive that is guaranteed to be maintenance-free for up to 30,000 kilometers. Both the 36 V and 9.6 Ah battery and the 250 W motor are from the well-known Samsung brand. In terms of autonomy, the bike offers around 100 km for each recharge.
It should be noted that the Ado Air has a torque sensor that is responsible for adjusting the assistance of the electric motor according to the type of terrain and the inclination of each moment. It also integrates a color screen that, according to the manufacturer, is the only one in the world on an electric bicycle with IPS technology, remains readable in direct sunlight, is not affected by rain and dims during night use of the vehicle.
The Air is associated with a mobile app that includes locking and unlocking the bike, as well as additional information such as distance travelled, riding time and battery charge level. Said application can also be used to be in contact with other users of bicycles of the Ado Bikes brand.
The new Air can now be reserved online at an introductory price of 1,369 euros and the first units will be delivered throughout the month of May.
