The first edition of the Volta a Catalunya women's stage race, which will be held between June 7 and 9, will feature seven teams from the UCI Women's WorldTeams (the best teams in the world).

Among the 20 teams that will participate in the event, beyond the seven UCI Women's WorldTeams - the maximum number of first division teams allowed by the category -, there will be ten international UCI Women's Continental Teams - from the second category - and an important Catalan participation.

The representatives of the UCI Women's WorldTeams will lead a top-level participation for the three most important days of competition in the history of women's cycling in Catalonia and, among them, will be the Belgian AG Insurance-Soudal Team, where the Catalan cyclist Mireia Benito races. .

Some of the most powerful teams in the world have also confirmed their presence, such as the French FDJ-Suez, the German Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling Team, the North American Human Powered Health or the Swiss team Roland, which was already present at the previous edition.

The first division teams will be completed by a very renewed Movistar Team, with additions such as the last winner of the reVolta - a race from which this event takes over - the British Claire Steels, who achieved an impressive solo victory in Sant Cugat (Barcelona) last season.

The last of them is the Norwegian team UNO-X Mobility, which after three participations in the men's event will debut in the women's event with a team that includes the 2021 reVolta champion, Katrine Aalerud.

The participation of international teams will continue with the participation of ten teams from the UCI Women's Continental Teams, led by the most outstanding Spanish teams today, such as Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, present in the latest editions of the reVolta, together with Eneicat -CM Team, where the Catalan Ariana Gilabert races.

Other international teams that also know what it is to race in Catalonia and that will repeat participation are the Cofidis Women Team, present in the last two editions, the German Canyon//SRAM Generation or the French Primeau Vélo-Groupe Abadie.

The list is completed by the American team Cynisca Cycling, which has in its ranks the first winner of the reVolta (2018), Lauren Stephens, the French team Arkea-B

The race will also feature the presence of the Spanish teams Massi Baix Ter Women's Team, Farto-BTC Women's Team, another regular in previous editions of the reVolta, and the Catalan team, which will once again give a chance to young Catalan talents against the best cyclists in the world.
