The price is one of the factors that slows down the advance of the electric car compared to other traditional mechanics. The same zero-emission model is more expensive than a gasoline or diesel model, which users tend to take into account when buying a car. Especially at a time when the price of vehicles has skyrocketed due to the microchip crisis, the invasion of Ukraine and economic inflation.

Despite the economic condition that in many cases represents an obstacle to promoting electromobility, the market almost always offers solutions that adapt to all pockets. From China, one of the largest electric car manufacturing countries in the world, comes a proposal from a company specialized in the manufacture of tricycles that offers a 100% ecological vehicle for just 1,650 US dollars, the equivalent of 1,500 euros.

It is a small urban car of very small dimensions manufactured by the Changzhou Xili Vehicle company called Chang Li. Measuring just 2.5m long, 1.5m wide and 1.8m high, it seats a maximum of three people, including the driver. It weighs 323 kilograms and can carry a load of up to 300 kg. of weight.

To get an idea of its tiny proportions, just compare it with a Volkswagen Golf. The car of the German brand measures 4.6 m long, 1.7 m wide and 1.4 m high, the only aspect in which it surpasses the little Chang Li, which is almost half as long as the Golf.

The Chang Li is designed to cover short distances, since its autonomy is very limited. It ranges between 40 and 100 kilometers depending on the battery it equips. The car is offered with three different battery packs, 800 W, 1,000 W and 1,200 W, with a charging time of between 7 and 10 hours. The vehicle includes a 1.15CV electric motor as standard, with which it is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 30 km/h, and is also offered with higher powers, specifically 1.36 CV and 1.6 CV.

Its performance as a city car to make short journeys encourages it to be used as a taxi in some Chinese towns. Of course, the driver can only transport a maximum of two passengers in an austere cabin and without the comforts that we can find in most cars of these characteristics that circulate in Spanish cities.

The equipment of the Chang Li is very basic. It is composed of a radio, fan and heating. It also incorporates an emergency wheel. The bulkiest objects can be placed on the roof rack that the car has installed on the retractable roof.

What is considered the cheapest electric car in the world is sold through Alibaba, one of the world's largest online sales platforms. As indicated by the e-commerce giant on the web, the delivery time for the minicar is around one month from the date the order is placed.

The car is packed in a box like any other item purchased on the platform. Although the Chang Li is a small car, transportation costs can be high if the order is destined for a European country.
