Indiana Design, modular furniture like a puzzle from Barcelona

Pau Núñez is an architect with a passion for puzzles who has mixed his craft with his passion for fitting pieces together to found the furniture company Indiana Design. Using modules made with recycled iron and solid wood, the architect proposes to furnish hotels, homes and other spaces such as offices. “They are very good quality furniture, with timeless designs and designed to last for many years, so they are also transportable and relocatable,” explains the entrepreneur. Furthermore, he adds that they are “like Lego pieces so that the user can create spaces to their liking.”

The architect began to devise his furniture brand during a few years that he lived in Colombia, hence the name of the firm, in memory of all those who, like him, returned from America. Based in Barcelona and established as a company in January 2023, Indiana Design has opted to work with workshops located in the same province. “They are small artisan workshops and my desire is to always work with workshops in the areas where the company is expanding,” says the founder.

Indiana Design markets through interior designer suppliers, thanks to which its furniture is already found in various hotels. It is also present in specialized stores in Catalonia, Andorra and some enclaves in the rest of the Spanish State. On the other hand, Núñez has also opted for direct sales through its website.

The entrepreneur, who has invested 120,000 euros in the project, plans to reach a turnover of 20,000 euros this year and reach 280,000 euros in 2025. Also in 2025, it is marked as the year to disembark in the international market, with the presence in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. “We have already made some sales outside of Spain and we see that northern countries are clearly a target market,” acknowledges Núñez.
