Week of concretion of the political model of the PP and Vox in the Valencian Community

Nothing defines the political model of a government better than its budgets and laws, no matter how many political statements its representatives make. This week, the Valencian Courts will hold different plenary sessions to debate the amendments to the budgets of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Accompaniment Law. In addition, an extraordinary plenary session will be held, at the request of Vox, to debate the Government's Amnesty Law and Pedro Sánchez's pacts with the Catalan independentists.

Activities that confirm the political action of the PP and Vox Council, governed by Carlos Mazón. At the end of the week there will be few doubts about what the Generalitat Valenciana will be like in this legislature that has just begun. The first plenary session will be held today, and will deal with the amendments in which both the PSPV-PSOE and Compromís ask to return to the Consell the draft budget law of the Generalitat for 2024, which amounts to 29,732 million euros, 4.5% more than in the previous year.

On Wednesday there will be a first plenary session to debate the entire opposition's amendments to the bill on fiscal measures, administrative and financial management and organization of the Generalitat 2024, better known as the Budget Accompaniment Law.

You have to be very aware of its content. Introduce tax deductions for expenses such as the dentist, glasses or the gym; reduces rates on home purchases by young people; eliminates the obligation for students from Spanish-speaking areas to take core subjects in Valencian, and eliminates the Office of Linguistic Rights, among others.

PP and Vox want to take advantage of the amendments to the Budget Support Law to change the current majority system that governs the election of members of the management and control bodies of Valencian public television.

That same day, and after the aforementioned plenary session, an extraordinary session will begin at the request of Vox to address the Amnesty Law and the investiture pact that has made it possible for Pedro Sánchez to be elected President of the Government. It will be a plenary session with a strong political tone, in line with the partisan upheaval that is observed in State institutions and on the street. We will have to be attentive.
