Vox accepts the Andalusian Statute

The 109 deputies that make up the Andalusian Parliament have already promised/sworn their positions. It is the first time that the popular have a majority in the Chamber, after having won 58 seats (the absolute majority is stable at 55) in the last regional elections of 19-J. Thus, the XII Legislature of the history of democracy in the region began.

It has been the ultra-right deputies who have introduced some variant of the stipulated formula to accept their positions. Thus, the 14 politicians of the formation have sworn their seats before the Statute of Autonomy "for Spain", while the deputies of Adelante Andalucía have done the same before the constitution "because the law says so". Some of the members of Por Andalucía have also added to their promise the defense of vulnerable groups in the region.

Only the deputies of the PP-A and the PSOE-A have adhered to the predetermined text.

The event held in what was the Hospital of the Five Wounds in Seville has been full of winks and gestures towards those attending the event. The affectionate hug that the elected president, the popular Juanma Moreno, gave to his former Cs partner, Juan Marín, who served as vice president in the previous legislature and who obtained a very bad result in the June elections, where failed to obtain parliamentary representation.

The popular leader also wanted, in addition to greeting the civil and military representatives gathered in the room, the rest of the leaders and representatives of the different political parties. Thus, Macarena Olona (Vox) approached Moreno smiling and they had a brief conversation. The president-elect did the same with Juan Espadas, the socialist leader in charge of playing the role of the main opposition party.

The Age Group has been made up of Jesús Aguirre, as president as he is the oldest deputy, and by the youngest politicians, José Manuel Gómez Jurado (For Andalusia) and Montserrat Paz (PP-A), has managed the vote of the deputies for the conformation of the Table of the Parliament.

In this sense, the PP-A proposed Aguirre himself, the Cordovan who was in charge of the Ministry of Health, as president of the Chamber, and the paradox occurred that he himself proclaimed himself as such after obtaining the support of all his colleagues (58 votes in favor) and the blank vote of the remaining 51 deputies.

In the second shift, the one that corresponded to the election of the vice presidents, Ana María Mestre (PP) was appointed as first on board, Irene García (PSOE) as second vice president and María Mercedes Rodríguez (Vox) as third.

This third place for the extreme right is a transfer carried out out of "generosity" by the popular in a gesture that, as the president-elect, Juanma Moreno, affirmed, "shows the spirit that we want to introduce from minute one in this legislature of generosity and dialogue". For her part, the spokeswoman for the Vox group, Macarena Olona, affirmed that there has been no "unworthy marketing" with this appointment since she has insisted that "they will make a real opposition but not surrendered."

As secretaries of the Table, Manuel Andrés González (PP) has been elected as First Secretary; Noel López (PSOE) as Second Secretary and Juan Ramón Carmona (PP) as Third Secretary.

Jesús Aguirre, newly appointed president of the Chamber, opened the morning in the "temple of democracy", as he declared, monopolizing all eyes. After the formation of the Parliament Board and the oath of each and every one of the deputies who will occupy a seat in this legislature, he delivered his first speech.

"Our responsibility is to offer solutions and not be a problem," he said, betting that this new political time is characterized by being the legislature of "dialogue" and the agreement between the different forces for the benefit of all Andalusians.

It will be tomorrow, Friday, when the Board holds its first meeting. This meeting will address the incorporation of a committee for Por Andalucía, which, in principle, will be occupied by the Granada deputy Alejandra Durán. The confluence of the left will have a voice but no vote in this body, while Adelante Andalucía has been left out, something that its leader, Teresa Rodríguez, will continue to demand.

The former socialist president of the Junta de Andalucía, José Rodríguez de la Borbolla, was present at the event; former presidents of Parliament such as Javier Torres Vela, and the Government delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández. In the guest gallery, it was also possible to see the outgoing president of Parliament, Marta Bosquet (Cs), the mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz; the general secretaries of the UGT-A and CCOO-A unions, Carmen Castilla and Nuria López, respectively; the president of the Confederation of Employers of Andalusia (CEA), Javier González de Lara, and the Ombudsman of the Andalusian People, Jesús Maeztu.

Likewise, among the attendees were the president of the Chamber of Accounts of Andalusia, Carmen Núñez; the president of the Andalusian Audiovisual Council, Antonio Checa; the Deputy Minister of the Presidency, Public Administration and the Interior, Antonio Sanz, and the President of the Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP) and of the Seville Provincial Council, Fernando Rodríguez Villalobos.

Also, the PP-A senator by regional designation Javier Arenas; the also senator by autonomous appointment Pilar González (Adelante Andalucia), and the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups of the PP-A and Ciudadanos (Cs) in the eleventh legislature, José Antonio Nieto and Teresa Pardo, respectively, in addition, the Cs councilors who they remain in the acting Governing Council.
