Thursday's highs They could reach 47 degrees in Xàtiva (Valencia), 43 in Montanejos (Castellón), 42 in Segorbe (Castellón), according to Aemet's prediction, which indicates that in the capitals they will reach 36 degrees in Valencia, 35 in Alicante and 34 in Castello.

Faced with these suffocating forecasts, the Valencia City Council has decided to enable the Social Emergencies Center (CAES) on Santa Cruz de Tenerife street, which is managed by the Red Cross, to attend to the homeless, so that they can take refuge from the high temperatures.

The acting mayoress of Valencia and Councilor for Heritage, Human and Technical Resources, Julia Climent, explained that this measure is taken due to the special notice from the Generalitat Emergency Center due to the probability that this Thursday red level warnings will be established due to risk of maximum temperatures in the interior and south coast of Valencia.

Climent has defended the work that the new government team has carried out "since it arrived at the City Council regarding the first heat wave when they acted quickly on drinking water sources so that the entire neighborhood had hydration points to go to" .

In this sense, Climent recalled that in the municipal area there are currently "a total of 843 drinking fountains located on the streets of Valencia distributed throughout all the municipal districts, in addition to the 25 refrigerated water fountains and the forecast for the installation of 21 new ones from September”.

On the other hand, the acting mayor recalled that "thanks to the review of the air conditioning of all municipal facilities that was carried out in the month of June, such as the markets, the population may have more resources where they can cool off and relieve themselves a little. the sensation of heat and shelter from high temperatures”.
