National Police agents have arrested two men, aged 48 and 54, in the province of Valencia, accused of exploiting and sexually assaulting a woman, as reported by the Headquarters in a statement.

The agents of the Provincial Immigration and Border Brigade of Valencia learned in January that a young woman of Moroccan origin had suffered various sexual assaults by the person in charge of the fruit shop where she worked and by a worker there.

After several investigations, both were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime of sexual assault and were brought to justice. The judge ordered the imprisonment of one of them, leaving the other provisionally released.

Furthermore, thanks to the police investigations and the collaboration of the victim, it was learned that she had been tricked into accepting the job, hiding from her from the beginning what working and living conditions she would encounter.

The agents found out that the alleged attackers had taken the passport from the victim, who was forced to work around 12 hours a day without rest, from Monday to Sunday, not knowing the language in its entirety.

Furthermore, the woman was harassed if she resisted the touching and sexual assaults by these men. She left the room where she spent the night only to go to work and return home.

Both men, of Moroccan origin and with previous police records, were arrested again this time for trafficking in human beings for labor exploitation. After this new arrest, one of them remained in prison and the other was provisionally released.
