Tourists are the third part of the public that will celebrate Valencian New Year's Eve

There are only a few hours left to end the year and nightlife venues are preparing for the last celebration of 2023, since New Year's Eve is economically the most important of the year for entertainment venues, followed by the company dinners that have been held in recent years. weeks and, of course, the imported Halloween party that is celebrated in November.

This year it seems that turnover will increase compared to last year, after the blank space of the pandemic on the most recent New Year's Eve. According to the "2023 Christmas Campaign Perspectives Report", carried out by the National Federation of Leisure and Entertainment Entrepreneurs (Spain at Night) and Coca-Cola for the Leisure and Tourism Observatory, the turnover of the leisure this New Year's Eve in the Valencian Community will mean an increase of 9% compared to 2022, five points more than in the rest of Spain. The starting price of tickets in online sales these days has been around 20.5 euros on average.

In the study's forecast, the Federation highlights the impact of tourism, since 28% will be tourist audiences. Overall, the majority of clients at the New Year's Eve parties will be from the same city (56%), but there will also be visitors from the same province (16%), from the Valencian Community (16%), from other regions (4% ) and from other countries (8%). With a predominance of young audiences - 55% are between 20 and 40 years old - the average age of the audience is 35.5 years.

In total, there will be 63 New Year's Eve party favors, parties and shows in the Valencian Community. They are those that have been authorized by the Ministry of Justice and the Interior, through the General Directorate of the Interior, out of 68 requests received. The figure represents a "slight increase" compared to last year, when the celebration of 55 New Year's Eve parties was authorized.

By province, the majority of applications submitted correspond to Valencia (28) and Alicante (26), followed by Castellón (14). By type of establishments that have submitted applications, the majority are restaurants, café-bars and bars. In the province of Valencia, the establishments that have requested extraordinary celebrations are found in the city of València, Gandia, Alboraia, Bellreguard, Alfafar, Náquera, Alzira, Silla and Jalance.

In the province of Alicante, there are 13 municipalities where these establishments are located: Alicante, Alcoi, San Fulgencio, Guardamar del Segura, Denia, Elx, Orihuela, Hondón de las Nieves, El Campello, Sant Joan d'Alacant, Xàbia, Los Montesinos and Santa Pola. Finally, in the province of Castellón, establishments located in Vinaròs, Segorbe, Torreblanca, Benicàssim, Moncofa, Castelló de la Plana and Vila-real have submitted applications.

The one in València will be one of the largest celebrations and also one of the most ambitious, since the council has planned a double celebration, with a daytime children's party and another at night, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento as well as a pyrotechnic show.

It will be a pyrotechnic show by Vulcano Pyrotechnics, a simultaneous display of four artificial castles from as many emblematic places in the city as the roof of the City Hall and at three points along the old riverbed: in front of the Serrans Towers, the bus station and the City of Arts and Sciences. “It is the first stone of the biggest show that will be held in Spain in the future, not just this year. This will put the city on par with Dubai, Sydney and London,” highlighted the representative of Pirotecnia Vulcano in this week's presentation.

For the celebration, there will be a special security device equipped with 190 local police officers and a team of 68 firefighters, which will be available during New Year's Eve and will attend the events planned both in the Town Hall square and the old Turia riverbed. Road traffic to the Plaza del Ajuntament de València will be cut off with fences starting at 9 p.m., so the plaza will be vacated at 8:30 p.m. and five only access points will be established
