More than 170 members of Forestry, Civil Protection and 112 have worked throughout the night to control the fires, with the support of municipal Civil Protection groups.
The regional government maintains the pre-emergency phase of the Special Forest Fire Plan (Infocant) activated and the firefighting operation in eleven of the thirteen forest regions into which the region is divided remains on high alert, all but the two of the south of the community.
At first hour, 13 fires are active in the mountains of Lamasón, Rionansa - where there are five -, Tudanca, Cabuérniga, Arenas de Iguña, Cieza, Liérganes, Cabezón de la Sal and Alfoz de Lloredo.
The controlled fires are located in Vega de Liébana, Tudanca, Cabuérniga, Arenas de Iguña, Cieza, Corvera de Toranzo, Luena, Vega de Pas and Ribamontán al Mar.
