The trial of the accused of killing a young man with knives in a house in Masarac, in Alt Empordà (Girona) on August 31, 2022 began this Monday in the third section of the Girona Court with the election of the popular jury that will be in charge of issuing the verdict.
The prosecutor accuses him of the crime of murder and asks for 24 years in prison, considering that he attacked the victim "treacherously" and without her having any possibility of defending herself.
The defense, on the other hand, alleges that it was a fight between two young people who worked as seasonal workers in the field, in a situation of "misery" and that the defendant had no intention of ending the victim's life. For this reason, he considers that he would be the author of reckless homicide.
