The three great mountains of little Aleny

In my monitoring of the landscapes of Alta Segarra, today I present in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia this photograph in which you can see, in the foreground, the small town of Aleny, in Calonge de Segarra, and in the background an entire series of great mountains.

In the background you can see the Port del Comte, the Cadí mountain range and the Pedraforca. The photograph was taken with a mobile phone and the quality of the image is what I know.

Aleny is a village about 660 meters above sea level and 2.5 km north of Calaf. Formerly it formed a municipality with the towns of Sant Pere de l'Arç, Dusfort and Conill.

The town we see in the photograph is on a small hill near the road, occupying the site of the old Elenio castle, which already existed in 1085.

In the distance we see the massif of Port del Comte, which separates Solsonès and Alt Urgell, with its peaks of Pedró dels Quatre Batlles (2,383 m), Tossa Pelada (2,379 m), Vulturó (2,349 m) and Tossal of Estivella (2,338 m).

The Sierra del Cadí and the Pedraforca mountains are also distinguished, an emblematic mountain of Catalonia, located within the area of the Natural Park of Cadí-Moixeró and which forms the border between the provinces of Barcelona and Lleida.

But, if the previous photograph shows us the view of the town facing the Pyrenees (north), below, we see a couple of images with Aleny looking towards the south. Another perspective.
