The Reggaeton Beach Festival in Tenerife is definitively canceled

After several days of negotiations with the City Council of San Miguel de Abona (Tenerife), the organization of the Reggaeton Beach Festival has announced that this event has finally been canceled due to "animosity" towards the festival on the part of the consistory.

The celebration of the festival was scheduled for this Saturday at the Amarilla Golf, in the south of Tenerife, and 20,000 tickets had been sold that the organization has announced that it will reimburse.

The organizers have published a statement on social networks in which they state: "After learning that the City Council of San Miguel de Abona has allowed mass events to take place on several occasions without the corresponding license, we see clearly that they have acted in bad faith by leaking technical reports with misinformation."

In addition, they have indicated that "it was not until three days ago when, surprisingly, without prior notice or time to correct possible deficiencies, the council closed the file alleging that documentation was missing."

The City Council announced last Thursday that it disallowed the celebration of the festival "because the security measures and the documentation presented by the organization do not meet the necessary requirements."

However, RBF Canarias has stated that it was the organization itself that detected "irregularities in the processing of the file by the city council and the Local Police", for which they tried to start a new urgent file in order to obtain the corresponding license within 24 hours. .

From the company promoting the festival they have also stated that at all times during the negotiation they were "absolutely convinced" that the situation was going to be resolved and that the event was going to be held as planned.

The Reggaeton Beach Festival has held more than 20 editions throughout the national territory and for this occasion in Tenerife 20,000 tickets had been sold, an amount that will be reimbursed, as announced by the organizers.

Likewise, the company promoting the festival has advanced that "it reserves the right to exercise the corresponding actions, both civil and criminal, for the damages caused both to the organization of the event and to third parties."
