The PSOE takes the Prohens Government to the judge for allowing the mask claim to expire

The Balearic PSOE has filed a complaint for prevarication, influence peddling and embezzlement of public funds against the Government of Marga Prohens for supposedly having allowed the file on the claim of 2.6 million euros to Soluciones de Gestión, the company investigated in the Koldo case. The socialists consider that there are elements to denounce the acting general director of the Health Service, Javier Ureña, who is directly pointed out in the complaint.

The socialists are based on the conversations intervened by the Civil Guard with those involved in the Koldo case during the investigation of the plot. The judge of the National Court has even placed the former Minister of Development, José Luis Ábalos, as a mediator between the company under investigation and the Government of Marga Prohens to prevent the claim from succeeding. The former minister has flatly denied it.

These audios show the enormous concern of those involved about the claim for this amount, which would mean bankruptcy for the company. Koldo Garcia and other people involved pressured the claim not to go ahead and the socialists maintain that the file expired in January due to the inaction of Marga Prohens due to the mediation of businessmen linked to the PP.

The Prohens Government has denied at all times that the file has expired, although it recognizes that, by mistake, the company was notified of an expiration period of three months, that is, until January, when the law sets a period of eight. months, which end precisely this month of April. The Prohens Government sent a new certification to the company to notify it of this error and, simultaneously, has opened a new file to obtain the nullity of the contract and be able to recover the 3.7 million that were paid for the masks, not just the 2, 6 million surcharge.

Marga Prohens is one of the PP officials that the socialists have cited in the investigative commission created in Congress to investigate contracts during the pandemic. The general director of the Health Service, Javier Ureña, has also been cited, against whom the complaint is now being filed. Precisely the movement of the PSOE comes in the days before work begins in both the investigative commission of the Congress and the Senate. The Balearic Parliament has also created its own commission at the request of Vox in which, for now, Prohens is not expected to appear.

The Government of Francina Armengol paid 3.7 million euros to the company Soluciones de Gestión, investigated in the Koldo case, for a shipment of masks that did not meet the stipulated technical conditions. Three years after verifying that the material did not have the quality that had been paid for, the Government of Armengol signed a proposal to refund the amount overpaid, a total of 2.6 million euros.

This proposal was signed on July 6, the day Marga Prohens was elected president of the Balearic Islands by the Balearic Parliament. The proposal to claim the money was signed by the now new general director of the Health Service, with Prohens as president. This claim is what the socialists believe they have dropped due to pressure from the businessmen of the Koldo plot.
