The Madrid Prosecutor's Office has initiated investigation proceedings regarding the racist insults expressed on the social network the Teatro Real, tax sources have reported.

In principle, the possible commission of a crime committed during the exercise of fundamental rights and public freedoms is investigated.

Among the agreed procedures is, first of all, to identify the people who uploaded their racist comments to social network X.

Last January, the Afroféminas organization filed a complaint with the State Attorney General's Office for the "racist insults" received by four girls from San Ildefonso on social networks.

The entity considers that these events may constitute a hate crime because they attack "the dignity and integrity of racialized minors."

"The messages expressed, full of contempt, humiliation and racism towards these minors, constitute a direct attack not only on their integrity, but also on diversity and coexistence in a society that must be inclusive and respectful of all people, regardless of their origin or skin color," the entity argues.

For Afroféminas it is "especially worrying that these acts have been perpetrated against minors, which makes them even more vulnerable to intolerance and hatred."

Afroféminas strongly condemns "any form of discrimination, hatred or violence, and demands a thorough investigation to identify and hold accountable the perpetrators of these acts." Likewise, he urged the relevant authorities to take effective measures to prevent the proliferation of this type of hate speech on digital platforms. For the organization, "the protection of the dignity and rights of all people, especially the most vulnerable groups, must be a priority for society."
