The Prosecutor's Office has opposed the stoppage of the exhumations of victims of the civil war and the dictatorship that are being carried out in the Cuelgamuros Valley.

On July 12, the Public Prosecutor's Office opposed the precautionary measures requested by the Association for the Defense of the Valley of the Fallen that sought to stop the exhumations.

The Central Administrative Litigation Court number 5 of the National Court rejected the suspension on July 27. Now, the aforementioned association has appealed this order, to which the Public Prosecutor's Office has opposed.

Likewise, the Prosecutor's Office has requested the inadmissibility of the main claim made by the association, based on the lack of standing and that the contested act is not challengeable.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has alleged that the suspension of the exhumation proceedings "would in itself generate evident damage to the victims' right to truth and reparation and, specifically, to the fulfillment of the Public Administration's duty to proceed with the location." , exhumation and identification of missing persons", as stated in the Democratic Memory Law).
