The organizer of the Barcelona Beach Festival has demanded in a statement that the City Council of Sant Adrià del Besòs rectify it and not force it to cancel the event. Live Nation thus reacts to the council's decision to deny him the license for the contest one day before it is held due to lack of documentation. Those responsible for the festival emphasize, however, that the missing documentation, a report on Prevention, Fire Extinction and Rescue of the Generalitat, "is the obligation and exclusive responsibility of the administration responsible for authorizing the activity." That is why they accuse the council of submitting the application "after the deadline", although they had submitted the project for the activity "sufficiently in advance".
The organizers stress that the festival, which is held in the Parc del Fòrum, has a history of six editions, from 2014 to 2019, and that, therefore, they have "extensive and exhaustive" knowledge of the documentation and deadlines. .
At the same time, it warns that the denial of the license "without just cause" causes "enormous" damage both in Sant Adrià and in Barcelona, in the condition that "more than 25,000" people from all over the world attend an event that, Until now, it continues without municipal permission.
Given this situation, Live Nation has announced a lawsuit against the mayor of Sant Adrià, Filo Cañete, and against the first deputy mayor, Ruth Soto. He will also ask the City Council for a claim of patrimonial responsibility.
The company does not give up holding the event this Saturday but initially apologizes to artists and attendees if it does not get a "rectification" from the consistory.
