Families from 39 of the 50 Spanish provinces were able to celebrate their good fortune yesterday. The first prize for El Niño, which went to the number 94974, was one of the most distributed in memory and almost the entire geography scratched some tenth, valued at 200,000 euros. After a year ago, l'Escala, on the Costa Brava, distributed almost the entire first prize – some 80 million euros – this year luck has not eluded Catalonia either, although, yes, it has been be less generous. A dozen Catalan cities pinched a portion of the most desired prize on Three Kings' Day, some thirty million euros. The lucky ones were Barcelona, Mataró, Montgat, Sabadell, Corbera de Llobregat and Sant Vicenç dels Horts, in the province of Barcelona; Porqueres, Anglès and La Jonquera, in Girona, and Corbera d'Ebre, in Tarragona. Lleida had to settle for a share of the third prize. It was distributed by administration number 1 of Tàrrega, which sold ten loose tenths, which remained in the capital of Urgell, according to Rosa Matas.

Among the Catalan cities luckiest with the first prize, Corbera de Llobregat stands out, which distributed 20 million euros among its neighbors. The person in charge of the administration of Lottery 2 of the municipality, which has been open for less than a year, Gustavo Gómez, was caught at home by the news, while he was opening the Kings' gifts with his son. “We were with family, enjoying the gifts when they called me to tell me. Frankly, I thought they were kidding me,” explained the lottery winner, in statements collected by the Catalan News Agency. A number that he sold over the counter. Among the winners, there is a group of ten workers from the Can Rafel Hotel in the nearby municipality of Cervelló, who shared a tenth and two sisters who decided to share a ticket. “It will serve to cover some holes,” said Cati Díaz, in statements to the Efe agency.

In the lottery administration number 1 of Sant Vicenç dels Horts, ten numbers (a series) of the first prize were sold, all through the window. Two million which are not bad either. A fact that has contributed to making this a very happy Christmas for the Àngeles Toro lottery, which on December 22 already distributed four million euros with a series of the Gordo de Navidad number, 88,008.

What Óscar López, responsible for the lottery administration on Galileu Street in Barcelona, did was arrive and kiss the saint. They opened the establishment a little over a year ago and they have already awarded their first millionaire prize. Specifically, the Barcelona administration sold a series (ten issues), about 2 million in prizes. He also gave some tenths of the winning completion to the administration of Sant Pau Street, in the Catalan capital.

The town of Montgat (Maresme) was awarded twice as it distributed a small part of the 94974 and also the third prize, 57033.

In the towns of Anglès, Porqueres, La Jonquera and Corbera d'Ebre, only one tenth was sold. In this last municipality of Terres del Ebre, chance wanted the lucky ones to be the owners of the town's tobacconist, who just two days ago bought one number per machine. The owners wanted to keep the news a secret, but the emotion of this day got the best of them. “We wanted to talk about it first with the family, but it has gotten out of hand, right now the whole town already knows,” the person in charge of it, Francesc Cortiella, acknowledged shortly after the draw.

And for the caroms of life, the one starring the Rosas lottery family. If in 2019, they distributed 17 million euros from the Christmas lottery from the El Trèbol de Ripoll administration, in 2020 they repeated with the delivery of 7.5 million more. Now they have moved their luck a few kilometers further south, to Anglès, where they sold a tenth of the winning finish in the La Bruixeta del Trèbol administration.
