The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation to clarify an alleged beating of a homeless man who was found unconscious this Tuesday in Lleida. The man had serious injuries to his face when they found him in the Balàfia neighborhood. According to the newspaper 'Segre', the individual had to be transferred in a very serious condition to the ICU of the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital.
The events occurred on Almacelles Street, where this person usually spends his nights. It was there where some supermarket workers found the injured man with a disfigured face. They raised the alarm and SEM ambulances and patrols from the Mossos and Guàrdia Urbana went to the scene.
At the moment the investigation has just begun. The police do not rule out any hypothesis, including a fight or a hate crime.
