The militancy of Más Madrid resolves to adhere to Sumar for the general elections of 23-J

The Más Madrid militancy has left no doubt about the next steps to be taken by the formation and has resolved almost unanimously -96.11% support- to join Sumar in the face of the 2023 general elections to "commit to any progressive atom capable of transforming this country".

After the family photo of the 119 positions obtained on March 28 by Más Madrid between the Assembly and the Community Councils, its national spokesperson, Mónica García, and its municipal leader in the capital, Rita Maestre, have taken the floor in the Plenary with which the formation has put an end to a participatory process open to all its assemblies to define how to attend the next elections.

Maestre has praised the work of the militancy to "commit" to an electoral process that occurred due to the poor results achieved by the PSOE in the recent May elections for which, he stressed, Más Madrid will work so that the "decisive force" in the progressive spectrum of Madrid "is also progressive in the future of our country".

García, who has valued the results of Más Madrid of 28-M in which, in addition to growing in deputies, has quintupled its presence in the region's town halls, has indicated that his formation will work "generously so that, with Yolanda Díaz, Spain will have its first female president of the Government as of July 23".

"We want our way of doing politics in Madrid to spread throughout the country to enjoy the courageous progressive politics that not only Madrileños, but also Spaniards need.

As we have always said, we want to take charge of the problems of the people of Madrid, but we do not want to see Spain from the sidelines, so we also want to take charge of the problems of the Spanish people.

Regarding the negotiation with Sumar, García has insisted on the discretion maintained until now, although she has been convinced that there will be an "agreement" with the project led by the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz. Although it has not missed the opportunity to claim the need to respect both the DNA and the autonomy of Más Madrid by becoming the first progressive force in Madrid where Unidas Podemos suffered a severe blow by being left without representation in both the Madrid Assembly as in the capital city council.
