The Little Prince says goodbye to the last full moon

In La Vanguardia Readers' Photos we can see these four images of the Little Prince saying goodbye to the last full moon of 2023 next to the sea in Alt Empordà.

This popular sculpture from L'Escala seems to be stalking the moon with its gaze, watching it rise from the sea. And they even seem to observe each other.

This beautiful sculpture of the Little Prince recalls the character from the literary work Le Petit Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The Riells promenade is dedicated to the figure of the Little Prince, who watches the days and seasons of the year go by sitting on a stone wall in front of Riells de L'Escala beach.

But, the Little Prince is not the only character from the book that has become a sculpture on this walk in L'Escala, where we can also see, a few meters away, a fox, located on the stairs of the Plaza del Univers.

It was the last full moon of the year 2023 and it has not gone unnoticed. The full moon in December is known as the "cold moon" for obvious reasons, since we are already in winter in the northern hemisphere. It was the North American Mohawk natives who named it that way.

But it also receives other names, such as "snow moon" or "winter-creating moon", at least that's what it was called when climate change was not discussed. It even receives the very descriptive name of "moon when the deer shed their antlers", also alluding to this time of year.
