The JxCat ballot for the municipal elections on May 28 in Barcelona will show a logo with the face of the mayoral candidate, Xavier Trias, and without the party's initials.
This has been indicated to EFE by sources from JxCat, a formation that has already closed 607 candidacies for the municipal elections and aspires to reach 800 lists throughout Catalonia.
Junts will present itself in a coalition with more than twenty local and supra-municipal parties under the Municipal Commitment (CM) brand and will hold a municipalist convention in Barcelona on May 6, in which Xavier Trias will have a leading role.
The party leadership gave Trias carte blanche to form a team and design a campaign that will try to distance itself from the slogans of "confrontation" advocated by JxCat and will seek a moderation space in the style of the one occupied by the old Convergència.
This typical profile of the Trias list will also be transferred to the graphic design of the ballots, in which the name of the candidacy will not be Junts, but "Trias per Barcelona-CM", and the logo that will appear will also hide the initials of the party and will show only the face of the mayor.
