The Israeli Army rescues a soldier kidnapped in Gaza

The Israeli Army announced this Monday that last night its troops managed to rescue a soldier kidnapped during the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 in southern Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified the freed soldier as Ori Magidish and released a photo of the reunion with her family, although they did not explain the circumstances or location of the rescue.

"Female soldier Col. Uri (sic) Magidish was freed, during a ground operation, after being kidnapped by the terrorist organization Hamas on July 7," the IDF statement said.

"The soldier was medically examined, her condition is good and she was reunited with her family. The IDF and the Shin Bet (internal intelligence service) will continue to make all possible efforts to achieve the release of the hostages," the military note adds.
