The Government leaves the future of the President of the Parliament in the hands of the groups

The spokeswoman for the Government, Patrícia Plaja, has left this Tuesday in the hands of the parliamentary groups to assess the order of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) to open an oral trial against the President of the Parliament, Laura Borràs, in the case for allegedly dividing contracts to favor a friend when he was running the Institució de les Lettres Catalanes (ILC).

"It is up to the parliamentary groups to establish a position. I am aware of the relevance that a position of the Government would have, but it is not up to me to make any assessment in this regard," he stated at a press conference after the Consell Executiu.

All this after the court has ordered the opening of Borràs's trial for the alleged crimes of prevarication and false documentation, and that the Prosecutor's Office requested for her a sentence of six years in prison and 21 years of disqualification.
