The transfer of Rodalies from the Government to the Generalitat has so much fine print to be finalized that both parties know that the issue will take years of work. To begin to give it shape, the Government wants the joint company formed by representatives of both administrations to be established during the first half of the year, before the summer. It will be the vehicle through which the following steps can be articulated, with their corresponding transfers of financial, operational or personnel powers.
That is at least the wish of the different departments of the Generalitat, which met this Friday, in the Pedralbes palace, to coordinate the actions of the parties involved: Presidency in the part of the political agreement, Economy in the economic transfer and Territori in the field of infrastructure and railway service. The Rodalies transfer commissioner, Pere Macias, was also present. The Aragonès executive wants to take advantage of the government alone so that everyone goes together, unlike when they governed with Junts and the strategies regarding Rodalies were very different between the Territori and Economy councilors.
For now, the next meeting between the Government and the Generalitat will be the political commission with the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, and the Minister of Territory, Ester Capella. It will take place the second or third week of February, and not the first as agreed in January. From that moment on, the technical commissions and the corresponding working groups will be deployed to begin shaping the transfer.
