The first cherry trees of the season bloom in Japan

Cherry blossoms are practically a symbol of Japan. Although the best-known Sakura is the one that is produced at the gates of spring, at the end of March, there is a variety of tree that does so a month earlier. This is the Kawasu cherry tree, which blooms in the second half of February.

These days, many parks in the city of Miura, in the Shizuoka prefecture, look an intense pink color, due to the Sakura. An idyllic setting to take the first photographs of this natural event that the Japanese await with great enthusiasm.

This year, unusually higher temperatures than usual accompany the walks that many citizens take alone or in company, next to the parks and rivers where these trees are located.
