The Federation denies the existence of a hidden plan by Rubiales to pay Piqué

The RFEF has come forward to deny the information published this Monday by El Mundo that reveals an alleged plan by the federative entity, with President Luis Rubiales at the helm, to hide the commissions for the Spanish Super Cup paid to the company Kosmos, whose founder and president is the former soccer player Gerard Piqué.

The report of the General Intervention of the State Administration (IGAE), to which the newspaper has had access, concludes that "they wanted to keep hidden" the agreement reached by the Federation and the company of the former Barça defender to take the Spanish tournament to Saudi Arabia until 2029. He also points out that the Catalan was associated with the RFEF, an accusation that the body has denied several times, and that there was an "order letter" to "give coverage to the commissions."

The commissions for this agreement amounted to 24 million, 4 million for each edition. It should be remembered that this particular relationship between Piqué and the Federation, in addition to the general management of Rubiales at the head of the Federation, is being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and a court in Majadahonda.

Before this new publication of El Mundo, the RFEF has informed in a statement that it is a "new manipulation of the newspaper" with the aim "of confusing public opinion and discrediting the Royal Spanish Football Federation and its president".

The letter defends in a first point that the existence of a plan to pay commissions is "absolutely false" and defends that "the author of the IGAE report issues a personal opinion without the slightest legal justification and without any evidence." In addition, it ensures that the IGAE "lacks powers within the framework of a private agreement"

"The RFEF considers it very serious that the media in question and whoever has prepared said report ignore the existence of a contract signed between a public entity of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sport and the Kosmos Company," explains the organization chaired by Rubiales, which he calls "ridiculous the accusation of "concealment of the agreement".

"The RFEF is aware that judicial times are slow and journalistic times are very fast, but once again reiterates its confidence in Justice and expresses its confidence that the correct federal action will be accredited," the statement concludes.
