The fake Eiffel Tower in Terrassa

I have captured this sunset for La Vanguardia Readers' Photos from a hill above Terrassa, in the Vallès Occidental, just below a high voltage tower that gives the impression as if I were in Paris at the Eiffel Tower.

Although he did not show signs of his work in Terrassa, the French engineer Gustave Eiffel, known worldwide for his Eiffel Tower in Paris, did leave his mark in other places in Catalonia.

A clear case is the Peixateries Velles bridge or Palanques Vermelles bridge, located over the Onyar river in Girona. Also in the city of Reus you can see its trace with the construction of the Boule family garages, today converted into the Espai Boule, a learning and training center.

Watching the sunset at the foot of this high-voltage tower in Terrassa from an elevated point allows you to enjoy wide views and the moment when the candlelight in the sky is colored.

It is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds show a wide palette of colors that ranges from pink to the most intense orange.

As part of the phenomenon of dispersion of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches the Earth is soft tones between red and orange.

The candilazo is also known as arrebol, which is the red color seen in clouds illuminated by the sun's rays, especially at dawn and in the evening.
