The councilor of the PSC resigns in the City Council of Calella

The disagreements between the socialist alderman in the Calella City Council, Josep Torres and Marc Buch, were public since the current mayor, successor to Montserrat Candini (PDeCAT), made the decision to present himself as a candidate for the next municipal elections leading the list of JxCat. The lack of agreement within his party has led to his resignation to make way for Soufian Laroussi, who will accompany Cindy Rando, who will repeat as socialist mayor in 2023.

The statement sent by the PSC makes it clear that Torres resigns due to his discrepancies over the continuity of the socialist municipal group in the government. Councilor of 2017, the PSC values the work and dedication of his partner, who assures that he will continue working for the citizens of Calella and the local socialist group, contributing all his experience. He will be succeeded by Sofian Laroussi, PSC adviser to the Barcelona Provincial Council, organization secretary of the PSC in Calella and coordinator of the socialist parliamentary office in Maresme.

Until now, the deputy mayor for Security, Mobility and Culture had publicly shown his lack of affinity with the current mayor, Marc Buch and, according to the digital Calella.com, even moved his chair away from the usual position in the room of plenary sessions, to the right of the mayor.
