One more year, and it's been 24, the Cap Roig festival has announced its summer line-up, with unusual surprises such as the presence of Estopa, The Corrs, Guillem Gisbert or Andrés Calamaro, who will be found in the emblematic gardens with Rozalén, Pretender , Pablo López or the incombustible Raphael, in a musical cycle that will extend over 23 evenings from July 12 to August 16. Tickets will go on sale next Monday, and can be purchased soon through the Vanguardia Tickets website.

The Irish The Corrs, who have sold more than 45 million records with their Celtic melodies, will be in charge of opening the festival, returning to the same stage where they last performed in Spanish territory nine years ago. They will be followed by Raphael, who will present his latest work, Victoria, an album composed with the help of another protagonist of the festival, Pablo López, who on his fourth visit to Cap Roig will review his discography, while Rozalén will present his sixth album, which he has been working on for four years.

The list of Spanish artists also includes Los Secretos, who will visit the festival for the first time to perform hits such as Déjame or Pero a tu lado, Miki Núñez, Sergio Dalma, Coque Malla, Taburete, Álvaro Soler and of course Estopa, who will arrive to the bucolic setting of Cap Roig a few days after having filled the Montjuic Olympic stadium, in a sample of the versatile relevance of the Muñoz brothers. The dance will be performed by Sara Baras, who this year commemorates the 25th anniversary of her company with the show Vuela, where she pays tribute to Paco de Lucía.

The international roster is headed by John Fogerty, iconic leader of the Creedence Clearwater Revival, who debuts at the festival with hits like Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen the Rain or Proud Mary. Chris Isaak will once again make the public fall in love with classics like Wicked game or Baby did a bad thing, while Diana Krall will do the same with her melodious jazz voice, and the British singer-songwriter Passenger will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the album All the little things with the who rose to fame. In a Latin key, the presence of Andrés Calamaro stands out, another of the artists who are making their debut at the Empordà event, and who is immersed in his 1999 Agenda this year.

Music in Catalan will have a notable presence this year thanks to the presence of The Tyets, the duo from Maresme that has been triumphing for months with that mix of sardana and urban called Coti X coti. Guillem Gisbert resonates in another key, who after leaving the Manels presents his first and acclaimed solo work, Balla la masurca!. New music is what Sopa de Cabat has also announced for this year, which they will present in their beloved Empordà on the anniversary tour of the Ben Endins album. And another anniversary, in this case for their 30-year career, will bring the Gossos to the stage in the concert that will close the festival this year.

The director of the festival and president of the promoter Clipper's, Juli Guiu, has highlighted the “commitment to the community”, reflected in the family shows at Cap Roig Mini, which this year will feature the participation of El pot petit along with Black Music Big Band, as well as the festival's participation in the El Trampolí solidarity initiative. He also highlighted the gastronomic offer, which will be run, as on previous occasions, by Hermanos Torres in the restaurant and the festival terrace, while Cal Blay Food Lovers will be in charge of the Village.

For her part, Maria Lluïsa Martínez Gistau, director of communications and institutional relations at La Caixa, has defined the festival as “a musical benchmark in southern Europe”, highlighting its potential to attract tourism to the area and generate an economic return, to which they expect to bring together 54,000 people, a figure slightly higher than that of the last edition, which closed with 94% occupancy and 12 sold outs in the 23 scheduled concerts, the same as this year, in which they will have a budget of 3.84 million euros.
