The Botànic shows its concern about the 'Azud case' while the PP tries to get political gain

The reports of the 'Azud case' that have appeared in recent days that question the financing of the PSPV are beginning to worry the Valencian government. Although in the socialist ranks there is the certainty that there is no legal path -there are suspicions about PAIs that were not developed or about treatment plants that have not been built-, in the petit committee they recognize that the UCO report can damage the credibility of the current rulers.

In addition, they are aware that between now and the elections new issues will be leaking in order to politically erode the PSPV and the president of the Generalitat.

In this context, the question was a must for the vice president of the Consell and leader of Compromís, Aitana Mas. The Consell spokesperson acknowledged, after the press conference of the Valencian Government plenary session, feeling worried and disappointed after learning about the latest police revelations in the framework of the Azud case.

Along these lines, Mas indicated that "if the Generalitat's Attorney has to act, it will do so", although he wanted to make it clear that "it has improved" compared to "a dark period for Spanish politics".

Asked specifically about the alleged meetings that possibly corrupt businessmen could hold with high-ranking officials from the Consell, Mas stated that she is unaware of them, but that in any case, "they should be registered as normal, as this government does and it was not done before."

"Whoever makes it pay, we have said it many times. There is an open judicial process that the Consell respects to the fullest and we continue to think the same as in any case of corruption of any party. Whoever has done it must pay for it," he insisted. .

The Valencian PP clings to this, which, after years enduring the burden of corruption, believes that it is time to give the socialists their own medicine. Yesterday, the deputy spokesman for the popular group and PPCV campaign manager, Miguel Barrachina, indicated that his party "has requested in writing the entry records to the Palau de la Generalitat to verify if Pepe Cataluña, 'el Conseguidor', has been there in recent months."

“The alleged plot of illegal financing of the PSPV by Ximo Puig continues today and that is why we have requested both these records and those of the Ministry of Finance to find out if this same legislature, the accused former PSPV treasurer, mediated to stop tax inspections to the businessmen who allegedly financed Ximo Puig's party," said Barrachina.

At the same time, the spokesman for the Popular Party in the Valencia Provincial Council, Vicent Mompó, advanced that his group is going to request a commission of investigation in the Valencia Provincial Council to analyze all the contracts made by the legal head of Divalterra, Jose Luis Vera, from 2015 to 2022 (when his contract for the liquidation of Divalterra ended).

"Valencians have to know why the Valencia Provincial Council had hired José Luis Vera for 7 years, who, presumably, is the achiever of a hypothetical box B of the PSOE, according to the summary of Caso Azud", said Mompó.
