The bar-restaurant service of a property on Larga beach in Tarragona is put out to tender again

The Department of Economy and Hisenda has once again put out to tender the concession of a property intended for a bar-restaurant located on Larga beach in Tarragona.

It is a ground floor space with three terraces that add up to a total area of ​​760 square meters. From 1986 until November 2018 it was operated by the Iot restaurant (local 1).

As published this Monday by the DOGC, the concession will be for a period of six years to coincide with the end of the current license granted at the La Sardineta restaurant (local 2). The minimum bidding fee is 30,331 euros per year and can be improved upwards in the offers submitted by bidders, who may present their proposals until January 11, 2024.

Once the various proposals have been presented, the Contracting Board will hold two public events - one on January 25 and the other on February 13 -, where envelope B will be opened, with the preliminary project for adapting the premises and the exploitation plan. and operation, as well as envelope C, with economic proposal.

As announced by the Department of Economy and Hisenda itself, the contracting body will take into account aspects related to the environmental management of the restaurant, as well as social criteria such as the possibility of hiring unemployed people, people with disabilities, measures to guarantee gender parity, the ability to generate indefinite and quality jobs or the commitment to hire local suppliers and companies, among others.

In August 2022, the Generalitat awarded the operation of the bar-restaurant service to the company Tucan 2016, SL; however, two months later it had to declare it void because the successful bidder submitted the documentation after the expected deadline. As a consequence, the concession became void, since the Law does not allow extending a term that has already expired. All of this took place after a long judicial process and once the administration recovered ownership of the premises, which had been occupied by the Iot restaurant since 1986.
