The Aemet predicts cloudiness, rain and storms in these areas of Spain to close the week

After days with clear skies, no rain and high temperatures for the time of year, instability returns in some areas of Spain. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), on Friday and Saturday there will be progressive cloudiness, widespread showers that could be accompanied by storms and strong gusts of wind in the southwest quadrant of the peninsula, Ceuta and Melilla.

This Friday, daytime cloudiness is expected in large areas of the southern half of the peninsula and eastern Iberia, with probable showers that could be locally strong and occasionally accompanied by storms in the south of Extremadura, northern Andalusia and west of Ciudad Real. Some rain is not ruled out in the area around the Strait and on the Mediterranean coast.

Regarding temperatures, there will be important differences in the maximum and minimum temperatures. According to the agency, increases in maximum temperatures will predominate in the northern half of the peninsula, stable in the Balearic Islands, and decreases in the rest. Specifically, the highest temperatures in all of Spain will be recorded in Córdoba and Ourense (28); in Huelva, Jaén and Pontevedra (26) and in Badajoz, Ciudad Real, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Toledo (25).

On the other hand, the minimums will decrease this Friday, except in the extreme southwest of the peninsula and in the west of Galicia. The weak frosts will become more widespread in the main mountain systems of the northern half of the peninsula and will be somewhat more intense in the Pyrenees.

In addition, strong gusts of wind are expected with six provinces under wind and wave warnings. Specifically, the warnings for coastal phenomena will be in Almería, Cádiz, Granada, Mallorca, Menorca, Girona and A Coruña (Galicia). In addition, Cádiz will have a wind warning.

Looking ahead to the weekend, instability will continue with the formation of a shallow DANA that will mainly affect the southwest of the peninsula, leaving rain in many areas. Regarding temperatures, on Saturday they will recover slightly, but on Sunday the downward trend in thermometers will continue, with a new general drop.
